7.3 percent of the world's population is practising Buddhist.
Buddhist followers live in Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Far East.
Majid Majidi, the well-known Iranian cinema director, had a trip to the Buddhists region in Kashmir.
He tells what he saw about those people relationship with Imam Hussein (AS):
I had a trip to Kashmir. Later, they said there is a region called Ladakh, which is at several thousand feet high on top of mountains.
Ladakh is an area close to Tibet and its population is mostly Buddhist.
There is a very magnificent Husseiniya. We sat in its hall.
I looked at the crowd and there were approximately forty Buddhists at the mourning gathering of Imam Hussein (AS).
I asked if they were Buddhists and I was so interested to talk with them.
Then, I was told that they respect and love Imam Hussein (AS). I was told that what happens during Muharram in that place is unbelievable. You must see it with your eyes, these Buddhists carry their flags with black signs.
And these are our friends, they are from us, they are not strangers.

"Safin-e-Al-Najah" which means “Savior Ship” is a Shi'ite mosque located in Java island, 600 kilometres east of Jakarta, Indonesia's capital.
The mosque has become world famous for its particular architecture design, which is similar to a ship.
This building is known as the "Kapal" mosque among native people.
The remaining signs in Muslim cemeteries indicate the existence of Shias in that region since the middle of 9th-century.

For instance
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a Shia’s mosque to attend Imam Hossein (AS) mourning anniversary.
This event was hosted by Davoodi Borha community.
Modi chose a white outfit as a sign of respect to mourners because the white colour is the symbol of sadness in the death of beloved ones in India.
In this event, he said: “ Imam Hossein (AS) martyred to save peace and justice and raised his voice against injustice. Nowadays, these lessons are more important than ever before”.
