The British photographer in Arbaeen
Emily Garthwaite is a 25-year-old London based photojournalist focusing on humanitarian and environmental issues.
She started photography five years ago and she has worked across many countries which led to several exhibitions and international awards.
She recently co-directed her first documentary the 40th Day in Iraq on Arba’een, the world's largest annual pilgrimage. She believes it is a cultural and practical product.
She says: “Surprisingly, Arba’een remains almost unknown to the world, and there continues to be widespread criticism of the media blackout surrounding it.
Also, as a photographer, every photo has a positive narrative for me”.
She believes aside the political issues, friendship and collaboration between Iranians and Iraqis are outstanding.
Her documentary will be broadcast soon.
عکاس انگلیسی در اربعین
ایمیلی گارث ویت، عکاس 25 ساله لندنی است، وی تمرکز بر مسائل انسان دوستانه دارد
وی عکاسی را از پنج سال پیش شروع کرد و در بسیاری از کشورها عکاسی نموده که حاصل آن چندین نمایشگاه و جوایز بین المللی می‌باشد
او به تازگی اولین فیلم مستند خود را با نام "روز چهلم" در بزرگترین زیارت سالانه‌ی جهان ساخته است
وی مدعی می‌باشد که این اثر یک تجربه فرهنگی است او در مصاحبه‌ای می‌گوید: بسیار متعجبم که طی این مسیر به هیچ وجه خبرنگار یا عکاسی را ندیده‌ام و مراسمی به این بزرگی، پوشش خبری ندارد
به عنوان یک عکاس، هر عکس در این سفر برای من یک داستان پرخاطره بود
او معتقد است که جدای مسایل سیاسی، دوستی و همکاری مردم ایران و عراق از نظر فرهنگی بی نظیر است و باید برایش جشن گرفت
مستند روایت گونه‌ی وی در آینده نزدیک پخش عمومی خواهد شد
