Imam Mahdi among us

The Shias are awaiting the arrival of the promised savior-- imam Mahdi (a.s.) -- and are not lost in their fantasies ; they are searching for an existing reality . He is alive and lives among the people . He sees people . He can feel their sufferings . Those who are lucky enough and have the capacity sometimes meet him without recognizing him . He does exist . He is a real human: a known being with a given name ; his parents are known and he lives among the people and with them . This is how our—the Shias’—belief is .

حقیقت این است که شیعیان وقتی منتظر مهدی موعودند، منتظر آن دست نجات‌بخش هستند و در عالم ذهنیات غوطه نمیخورند؛ یک واقعیتی را جستجو میکنند که این واقعیت وجود دارد. حجت خدا در بین مردم زنده است؛ موجود است؛ با مردم زندگی میکند؛ مردم را میبیند؛ با آنهاست؛ دردهای آنها، آلام آنها را حس میکند. انسانها هم، آنهائی که سعادتمند باشند، ظرفیت داشته باشند، در مواقعی به طور ناشناس او را زیارت میکنند. او وجود دارد؛ یک انسان واقعی، مشخص، با نام معین، با پدر و مادر مشخص و در میان مردم است و با آنها زندگی میکند. این، خصوصیتِ عقیده‌ی ما شیعیان است

🖌    Answer: According to narrations and some valid meetings it could be said that Imam Mahdi (PBUH):

🔸 1. Is the most similar person to the Prophet of Islam, 2. Has a beautiful young face, about 30 to 40 years old, 3. Is average, slender and strong in stature, 4. Has a fair-reddish (tawny) complexion, 5. Has long, curly and wavy hair, 6. Has a broad and shiny forehead with the effects of prostration and a black mole on the cheek, 7. Has strong and big shoulders, 8. Has a broad chest, 9. Has big and black eyes, 10. Has drawn and long eyebrows and narrow nose and calves.

There are times we think what Imam Mahdi (PBUH) is? What is a person like Imam Mahdi (PBUH) good for? What does he do and how does he do it? We do not understand!
If the Jewish people are seeking the arrival of Messiah Ben David, the Christians are seeking the same Messiah Ben David but its Christianized form who is Jesus Christ. Moslems, either Shia or Sunni, are seeking the arrival of Mahdi; and there is no disagreement between them on the fact that Mahdi (PBUH) is one of the descendants of Imam Ali (The first Imam of Shias) and her holiness Zahra (PBUH). There is something common in this concept.

Should we be afraid of Imam Mahdi (A.J) or not?

Some have shown a violent image of Imam Mahdi (A.J) and some books have falsely introduced him as one who will kill as much as the earth will be filled with blood. This is done by enemies… Imam Mahdi is a Missionary of Mercy. His revolution is primarily not a military one but a cultural one.

We read in Aa’l-Yasin: “He is a “well-wisher for the world of humanity”, “the rescue ship”, “the flag of guidance”, “the apple of people’s eyes”, and “the best son of man”.

In different Hadiths, Imam Mahdi (A.J) has been resembled to two things: 1- the sunlight 2- the vitalizing and reviving water

Lady Hakimah (Imam Jawad (PBUH)’s daughter) says: “I was with Imam Hassan Askari (PBUH) on the seventh day after Imam Mahdi’s (PBUH) birth. He told his son: “Son! Speak.” And he said: “I testify there is no God but Allah” and he saluted Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Ali (PBUH) and the holy Imams till he came to his father’s name. Then he said:”

“In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, And we wished to be Gracious to those who were being depressed in the land, to make them leaders (in Faith) and make them heirs.” [The Quran - Surah 28 - Verse 5]

It is written about the characteristics of Imam Hassan Askari (PBUH): “He had moderate brown complexion, big black eyes, a beautiful face, an average height and an appropriate figure. Although he was young but the Quraysh grandee and scholars were very impressed by him. His friends and enemies both endorsed him for his knowledge, endurance, kindness, piety, and other moral habits.

He could live only 28 years, however he had a lot of students. Only Sheikh al-Tusi has mentioned his student’s number more than 100! There were pious and prominent personalities among his students; are: Ahmad ibn Ishaq, Abu Hashim, Uthman ibn Saeed, Ali bin Ja’far, Muhammad ibn Hassan Saffar and...
